You’re going about your life doing ‘all the things’ and wondering, “Am I missing something?  Why am I feeling so hopeless and why is life so painful sometimes?  Do I really matter to my friends and family?” You desire deep connection and belonging but often feel like you’re on the outside and wish your life had more meaning.  If this is you, you’ve found the right place.

Life is filled with unexpected, often painful, experiences that can leave you feeling a deep sense of brokenness, along with feeling confused, anxious, and even depressed.  There is no textbook with a formula for dealing with everything you have on your plate, but you’re longing for a solution to the emptiness inside.

I hear you.  My goal as a counselor is focused on helping those struggling to find meaning, purpose, and belonging find a greater sense of their worth and a deeper sense of connection in their lives.  Together we will work towards finding purpose in your pain and examine your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are potentially keeping you feeling “stuck”.

My desire to become a therapist began after experiencing the healing and restoration offered through the therapeutic relationship myself.  Post-graduation, my mother was diagnosed with cancer.  Additionally, I’d recently finished my collegiate swimming career - something with which my identity was quite intertwined.  At that time of transition and grief during my early 20’s, I deeply desired support and care.  I found a place of acceptance and belonging where I could fully express my difficulties to an unbiased, trusted person who helped me unpack everything I was feeling and begin to cope with my life’s unexpected hardships.  After experiencing such healing through therapy, I became a counselor to help others find comfort in the midst of their pain.

Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.
— Viktor E. Frankl

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology & History from Ouachita Baptist University and am a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary’s Master’s of Arts in Biblical Counseling.  Throughout my experience as a therapist, I’ve worked closely with women experiencing trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family of origin concerns, and self-esteem issues like shame and unworthiness.

I believe that you have inherent value as well as God-given worth and are worthy of being treated with both dignity and care.  Journeying alongside others through their difficulties, as well as having navigated through my own, gives me the opportunity to provide hope and comfort and to be a safe place for you as you navigate through the hardships you’re experiencing.

While I am a Christian therapist, I welcome clients from any belief system. Your faith matters to me, and I will do my best to incorporate it into our therapy process while simultaneously creating an accepting, unbiased, and non-judgmental atmosphere. I desire to be of help to you regardless of your spiritual beliefs.

Though you are hurting, there is hope for healing.  Pursuing counseling is a courageous act and I would be honored to walk alongside you, because you matter.
