COUNSELING IN DALLAS & VIRTUALLY ACROSS TEXAS
You hold it all together.
Let’s create a space where you don’t have to.
You may be capable, responsible, and accustomed to being the person others rely on, while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
Counseling offers a place to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the pressure, and feel more like yourself again.
you’re here because
You’re used to being the one who can handle it.
You anticipate what needs to be done. You keep things moving. You care deeply about the people around you, and often expect a great deal from yourself.
Even when life looks fine from the outside, you may feel emotionally exhausted by the pressure to keep functioning. You may know that something needs to change, but struggle to understand why you continue returning to the same patterns.
you may recognize yourself here if you:
carry responsibility well but rarely feel at ease
overthink decisions or hold yourself to difficult standards
take care of other people before considering what you need
feel overwhelmed by the emotional weight of motherhood
have lost touch with parts of yourself beneath family, work, and responsibility
want healthier boundaries without becoming less caring
keep telling yourself you just need to get through this season
You do not need to become less capable or less caring. Counseling can help you understand the patterns that keep you carrying so much and make room for your own needs, too.
Meet allison williams, LPC
A smaller practice by design.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than a decade of experience working with women.
After years of building and leading a group counseling practice, I chose to return to solo practice so I could spend my time where I most want to be: sitting with clients and doing thoughtful, personal work.
Known Counseling is intentionally small. This allows me to remain closely involved in each client’s care and offer warm, relational counseling grounded in experience and clinical judgment.
My office is located within Walnut Hill OB/GYN Associates in Dallas, with virtual appointments available throughout Texas.
Areas of Focus
The concerns that bring women to counseling rarely exist on their own. Anxiety, motherhood, relationships, responsibility, and identity often shape one another.
-
Motherhood can bring love and meaning alongside grief, uncertainty, mental load, and a profound shift in identity.
I support women through trying to conceive, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, miscarriage, changing relationships, and the emotional realities of caring for others without losing connection with themselves.
-
Sometimes the life you worked hard to create no longer feels like it fits in the same way.
Counseling offers space to consider evolving priorities, relationships, family roles, career decisions, and who you are beyond what you accomplish or provide for others.
-
You may appear calm and capable while internally anticipating problems, replaying decisions, or worrying that you are falling short.
Counseling can help you understand what drives that pressure, soften the expectations you carry, and find a steadier way of relating to yourself and your responsibilities.
how i work
The patterns that help capable women keep going often develop for understandable reasons.
Together, we will look beneath the immediate stress to understand the beliefs, emotional needs, and earlier experiences that may still shape how you respond to responsibility, relationships, and change.
My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I draw from attachment, self-compassion, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral approaches, and the Primal Question framework, depending on what will be most helpful to you.
