You feel overwhelmed, burdened, and burnt out by the world’s pressures and expectations.  If you’re honest, you’re feeling lost and alone, and your relationships are suffering.  You wish you were free from the lies you’ve been believing. The thing is, they don’t feel like lies anymore; they’ve become background noise and they feel so true.  On top of it all, you’re frustrated because this is not where you want to be.  If any of this resonates with you, I’m here to help!

Society is filled with ways that we’re “supposed” to live.  Whether it’s about who we are or how we’re showing up in our relationships, there’s a voice telling us that we’re not good enough, we’re not worth it, and we don’t deserve to be happy.  These intrusive thoughts leave us feeling lonely, confused, anxious, and even depressed.  Maybe these thoughts come from childhood hurts or family struggles.  Wherever they come from, they have an origin, and together we can understand them and help you find the freedom you’ve been wanting for so long.

I understand, and you are not alone!  Whether it’s the relationship you have with yourself, or the relationships you have with your family and friends, struggling to feel acceptable and confident is more common than you think, and I want to walk with you through these difficult thoughts and experiences.  Together, we can uncover the wounds that might be preventing you from moving forward and work to understand who you are on a deeper level.  My work is focused on helping you grow towards more self awareness, knowing your value, and uprooting destructive beliefs while replacing them with new truths.  Whether you are an individual, a couple, or a family wanting some guidance and hope, I want to go on this journey with you.  We will explore those persistent thoughts that show up in your mind and the patterns that appear in your relationships with compassion and insight so that you can thrive.

How liberating it is to pursue wholeness instead of perfection.
— Morgan Harper Nichols

Growing up, I spent my summers working at a camp for individuals with disabilities, and it was there that I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could help others.  I was uncertain what that would look like until I saw the transformative influence that counseling had within my family and I experienced my own personal counseling.  Through having a professional counselor walk alongside me, help me understand my story, and reach my goals, I knew I wanted to help other individuals and families do the same.

I received my Bachelor’s in English Literature at Baylor University and my Master’s in Counseling from The University of North Texas.  I have developed specialties in stress and anxiety, depression, family distresses, interpersonal relationships, identity concerns (specifically in life transitions), guilt and shame, codependency, and Christian counseling. Additionally, motivated by my own experience in a family of six kids, I have sought specialized training working with families and couples.

I know you feel alone and like maybe no one understands, but I want to walk with you.  I want to know your fears, stressors, and overwhelming feelings, and help you navigate towards the life you want to live.  I am here to provide a safe, empathic, and insightful space for you to process and discover a more confident and healthier you.

Although I am a Christian counselor, I welcome individuals from all belief systems. I believe the most valuable part of the counseling process is the safe therapeutic relationship between the client and the counselor and I work wholeheartedly to provide a warm environment for you to be yourself and reach your goals.

If you are ready to experience freedom in your mind and in your relationships, contact me today.   All you need to do is show up and we will walk forward together.
