There it is again - that feeling somewhere in your body or your mind that you can’t ignore.  Nothing (or perhaps everything) is going right and that aching feeling simply won’t go away.  Maybe something is happening right in front of you, or maybe it’s that something you’ve thoughtfully put into the back of your mind.  Either way, the feelings are begging to be addressed, but you’re not quite sure where to start. I understand!

Life is hard, and sometimes it can be difficult to feel like you have a handle on it.  Or maybe the moment you do, something else comes your way and you’re overwhelmed and tired.  Perhaps you’ve never really felt like you’ve had a handle on life at all. Uncomfortable emotions can weigh us down and without the support and tools to handle them, they can feel debilitating. Sometimes we know the reasons for the things we feel, but even then, managing it is another story.  And other times, we have no idea why we’re feeling the way we do and that leaves us feeling even more powerless and ashamed.  Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, family dynamics, difficult relationships, or life transitions, you don’t need to carry that weight alone.  I’m here to help.

I get it. I like to think of therapy as a place that can help make sense of everything in our brains, similar to untangling a messy ball of yarn. My goal is to help you process, understand, and ultimately successfully navigate through those funny feelings and hard experiences. I am here to give you the space and time to process whatever life has thrown at you and help you establish effective tools to help you move forward.

Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our greatest measure of courage.
— Brené Brown

I became a counselor because when I needed to be heard, I found great solace and peace in talking to someone who listened, understood, and helped.  That counselor gave me space to feel and then helped me navigate those feelings.  Now, it is an honor to be able to hold that space for you in your most vulnerable moments.

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology, and Master’s in Professional Counseling, both from Dallas Baptist University.  I have been passionate about counseling since I was 14 years old, sitting on the couch myself, and I am honored to be here with you now. Throughout my time as a therapist, I have gained specialties in depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, family of origin concerns, issues pertaining to women, and self-esteem concerns.  Life experiences can cause our brains to feel tangled, and I am here to help you straighten that out.

I welcome all individuals and you can be assured that our time will be free of judgment or bias.  Whatever your background or belief, you are welcome, and I can’t wait to get to know you.

You are capable of doing hard things, and when you are ready to take the next step into untangling those hard feelings, looking at things you may have been pushing away, and creating the life you want, I am here. My goal is to help you process, understand, and ultimately successfully navigate those experiences right alongside you. You are not alone.
